For over 40 years, this magnificent duplex at 27 West 67th Street was the cherished home of Peter Yarrow, of the legendary folk trio Peter, Paul & Mary. The turn-of-the-century artist's loft is a vibrant testament to New York's rich cultural heritage and resonates with an enduring spirit of creativity and artistry.

Peter Yarrow's time here was marked by more than just music - it was a gathering place for intellectuals, grassroots activists, friends, and family - where creativity and conviction intertwined and, literally, changed the world. Countless magical evenings with 80-100 people filled the living room, as guests sang "Blowin" in the Wind," "If I Had a Hammer," and "Puff the Magic Dragon" together. Filled with song and purpose, these fundraising concerts supported some of the most important causes of our time.

Built as an artist's studio in 1903, one enters into the old-world elegance of a cathedral living room with barrel-vaulted ceilings and an astonishing two-story window that frames the Upper West Side skyline. Adjacent to the great room is a dining area with iconic southern exposures flooded with natural light. The kitchen has original fire-brick vaulted ceilings, custom oak cabinetry, and an oversized maple center-island table where family meals and songwriting sessions were the norm.

Next to the kitchen is an en-suite bedroom connected to a full bathroom that also serves as a powder room for guests through a separate doorway. Upstairs, the second-floor mezzanine, also accessible by the elevator, overlooks the great room below. The primary bedroom, flanked by north and south floor-through exposures, has beautiful views and receives bright light throughout the day. It includes an en-suite bath and a home office. An additional bedroom and full bath complete this upper level.

This loft is part of a building as rich in history as its former occupant. The 27 West 67th Street Studios building is a cornerstone of the West 67th Street Artists" Colony Historic District-an area renowned for nurturing artistic expression. With just 32 cooperative residences, the building is designed to support and inspire creative lives.

The apartment includes a separate office/work space on the penthouse level, a common roof terrace with mature plantings and skyline views, as well as a storage unit in the basement. The building has a full-time attended lobby and a live-in superintendent.
