As featured in House Beautiful, this stunning two-bedroom features an extensive list of exquisite upgrades and vibrant furnishings, creating a unique and authentic living space.

Our journey begins with the living room which features red lacquered walls and hand-painted faux-tortoise ceiling coverings by Gracie. A collection of black and white photographs taken by Lillian Bassman are clustered in the south-facing wall while the remainder of the space is furnished by Art Deco inspired furniture as a nod to the period when the building was constructed.

The peacock blue wall coverings by Maharam in the primary bedroom are nicely complemented by Holland & Sherry's Sula crushed-shell ceiling. The bedroom includes a gracious en-suite bathroom fitted withCalacatta marble, Austrian scones, and Toto toilet as well as a walk-in-closet with custom cabinetry.

The hallways offer a vivid yet refined sense of color in an exotic teal-green and red wall covering. The silver-leafed ceilings in the hallways introduce depth and enhance light in the common areas.

The teal windowed kitchen is outfitted with top-of-the-line appliances including a Scotsman icemaker. The powder room features mother-of-pearl tiles, grass leaf ceiling, and vanity inlaid with silver leaf. The bed in the second bedroom is framed by a custom-built cerused-oak bookcase by New Day Woodwork and the headboard is upholstered in Bukara by Dedar. The entry foyer is studded with antiqued mirror hand cut in an emerald shape and inlaid with brass.

The Barbizon is a rare and iconic prewar condo in Lenox Hill. The landmarked building was initially used as a female-only residential hotel for young women who were seeking a safe retreat after moving to New York City.It is a 23-story steel frame building encased in concrete and faced in salmon brick withlimestone andterra cotta decorative elements. The amenity package includes 24-hour doorman, concierge desk, live-in resident manager, resident's lounge (private dining room with caterer's kitchen, library/conference room, screening room), bike storage and a private entrance to Equinox.

Equinox considers the Barbizon its flagship location in UES. The 45,000 square feet of space includes four floors of state-of-the-art strength and condition equipment, group fitness: boxing, Pilates, yoga, cycling, a full-service spa, and 75' swimming lap pool.
